Jeff Lovejoy

Lifelong horseman Jeff Lovejoy joined Battaglia Farms in 2005, and that year added two national reserve championships to his record, as well as trained the U.S. National Champion in Half-Arabian Show Hack AAOTR for Windwalker Enterprises. The 2002 APAHA Horsemen’s Award winner as Junior Performance Showman, he was honored again in 2005 as Hunter/Show Hack Trainer.

Lovejoy is known for his nonstop work ethic, and has scored many championships at the Nationals, Scottsdale and regional competition. He enjoys developing amateurs, and is particularly effective with beginner riders. “My aim is to relate technical and sometimes difficult subject matter to amateurs and junior riders in a way they can understand,” he says. “Not dumb it down—just make it easily approachable, integrated and user-friendly from the amateur perspective.” His highly-structured and horsemanship-oriented lessons are popular with farm clients.

In accord with Battaglia standards, Lovejoy’s dedication to perfection and presentation is evident in the horses and riders with whom he works. “I like the fact that there is a lot of attention to quality here,” he says. “We pay attention to the small details that go into the big picture.”
